Competitive Program
Competitive Program Streams
currently under review (March 2024)
FAST has two Streams of our competitive programs, the Age Group Stream and the Senior Stream.
Age Group Stream
The Age Group Stream is for grade school and middle school aged swimmers, and provides an environment where athletes can learn competitive swimming skills and techniques while progressing through the sport. The AQUA 1, 2, and 3 groups allow flexibility in terms of scheduling and attendance, while the Junior Performance group allows promising Age Group athletes the opportunity to train at the highest level. Swimmers in this group must demonstrate and understanding and acceptance of the rigour and intensity of training and performance expected by the coaches. A positive attitude and attendance are essential; therefore athlete/family commitment is a requirement.
Senior Stream
The Senior Stream is for high school aged athletes who have spent time developing through our Age Group program, and provides two training groups between the Senior and High Performance groups. The Senior group retains the flexibility of our AQUA groups from the Age Group stream, while still allowing athletes the opportunity to train and succeed at a high level. The High Performance is home to some of our clubs and provinces best athletes, and swimmers in this group must demonstrate and understanding and acceptance of the rigour and intensity of training and performance expected by the coaches. A positive attitude and attendance are essential; therefore athlete/family commitment is a requirement.
