Swimmer Responsibilities

 

During Training

  • Encourage and support your teammates

  • Bring a water container to use to keep hydrated

  • Follow the program your coach has outlined

  • Stretching and Dry land Training

  • Be on deck ready to begin stretching, dry land and/or swimming practice at the scheduled starting time

  • Complete dry land exercise and stretching as defined by your coach.
    Avoid vulgar, or profane language

After Practice

  • Put all equipment back in its proper place.

Other Good Practices

  • Attend all required events.

  • Let your coach know when you must miss practice.

  •  Support the coach and your teammates.

  • Compliment and encourage those around you.

  • Establish your own goals and train yourself to achieve them.

  •  Stay informed of club events, happenings and meets.

  • Make sure handouts and announcements given out at the pool get home.

  • Always remember to do you best, have fun, and enjoy swimming!

In the Pool

  • To the best of your ability:

  • Complete each set and drill as assigned by your coach

  • Practice using legal strokes from wall to wall

  • Practice using streamlined legal turns on all strokes

  • Begin each drill repeat on time and finish at the wall

  • Listen attentively to your coach's instructions

  • Do not hang or sit on lane lines

  • Do not fool around in the pool

  • Walk on the deck.

At Swim Meets

  • Wear a team cap and team suit to all meets.

  • Show your competitors respect.

  • Treat swim meet officials with respect; if a problem arises, talk to your coach.
